Eligibility criteria for the Canadian Red Seal Exam:

Challenger or Trade qualifier

This means you have experience working in a trade, but you haven’t completed an apprenticeship program.

Apprentice

You are currently completing an apprenticeship program in Canada.

Journeyperson

You have completed an apprenticeship program, but you haven’t yet been certified as a Journeyman in Canada.

Valid Trade Certificate Proof

You have a certificate from a recognized trade school or training program.

Proof of Diploma

You have a diploma from a recognized educational institution.

4-to-6 years’ work experience

You have worked in your trade for at least 4 to 6 years.
